Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) is the world’s premier prehospital trauma education developed in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons to promote critical thinking in addressing multi-system trauma and provide the latest evidence-based treatment practices.
This is a dynamic class that challenges you to understand the physiology of trauma patients, and puts your skills to the test through multiple scenarios. We take training seriously and think you will find this is not your typical PHTLS course!
When you register, you will be sent a Pre-Test which is required to be completed prior to coming to the class. The day of the class is very time-intensive. Be prepared for Q&A and to demonstrate your skill level. We do not believe in checking the box.
If you've taken PHTLS in the past, this class will take the challenge to a new level. We want you to earn your certification and feel like you learned something new. You get what you pay for, and we can guarantee a phenomenal experience in our course. We keep the class moving by integrating a lot of hands-on skills.
This course promotes critical thinking as the foundation for providing quality care. It is based on the belief that, given a good foundation of knowledge and key principles, EMS practitioners are capable of making reasoned decisions regarding patient care.
What if you have never taken PHTLS before? If you are currently certified in ITLS, you can bridge over to PHTLS by taking the refresher course. The benefit of PHTLS is that it is a 4 year certification whereas ITLS is only 2 years.
