What is online blended learning?
The American Heart Association offers folks a more flexible online blended learning format from the traditional Instructor-led training. The AHA calls this online blended format "AHA Heartcode".
AHA Heartcode allows a student to do all the cognitive portion online. It is self-paced and includes videos, text and online interaction. You will also take your test online without having the pressures of time constraint and other people around you.
After you have completed the online course, you will be given a certificate that you can print off. You can then find any American Heart Association instructor for the discipline you completed and be able to demonstrate the skills you learned.
What classes are included in AHA HeartCode?
How do I sign up for an AHA HeartCode class?
We always recommend that you look to see if there is anyone offering the skills session for the class you want to take. We often see people pay and spend a lot of time taking the online course only to find out there is no one offering the skills session.
- If you would like to take an AHA HeartCode class, first check our calendar to see if we are offering that skills session.
- Once you have found the skills session, register for that first. Make sure to leave enough time to complete your online course. We recommend giving yourself 2-3 days to complete the online course.
- Once you've registered for your skills session, you can head over to the AHA's Online Store and purchase the appropriate class.
- After completing the online course, you'll be issued a certificate of completion that you'll need to print off and bring to your skills session.
